Deliverability guardrails

A deliverability guardrail that can pause any sequence — and no setting can override it.

It will tell you no. That is the feature.

Every send is scored across reputation, history, contact pressure, compliance and timing.

Five signals, one score

How a send is scored.

Weights add to 100. A healthy score sends normally; elevated slows down; risky holds; dangerous stops and escalates to a human.

30 · Reputation

Mailbox and domain health

Bounce rate, complaint rate, blocklist checks, mailbox health and the ramp stage of the mailbox.

25 · History

What this sequence has done

Reply, bounce and unsubscribe behaviour over the last sends, per mailbox and per step, compared against your own baseline.

20 · Pressure

Contact pressure

How many touches this person and this company have had from anyone in your workspace this week, across every sequence.

15 · Compliance

Consent and suppression

Unsubscribe header present, suppression list honoured, region rules applied, no send to a contact who has opted out anywhere.

10 · Timing

Window and cadence

Recipient-local send window, weekday and holiday rules, minimum gap since the last touch, and spacing between mailbox sends.

The checks you would run by hand, run before every send.

A read-only health check per mailbox, with the steps for your provider when something is missing. Bounce and complaint rates per mailbox. Blocklist lookups. Unsubscribe header presence. All of it on one screen, and all of it feeding the score.

  • Per-mailbox daily caps that the guardrail can lower but you cannot raise past its limit
  • Reputation ramp for new mailboxes and domains
  • Bounce threshold (2%) and complaint threshold (0.3%) enforced per mailbox
  • Suppression lists shared across the workspace, including unsubscribes from any sequence

Why we built it this way.

The problem with “unlimited”

Sequencers compete on volume: unlimited mailboxes, unlimited warm-up, unlimited sends. The cost lands on your domain, and on the inbox of everyone you email after the damage is done. A blacklisted domain takes months to recover and often never fully does.

Guardrail first, features second

Quotarider's dispatcher will not send a step the guardrail has held. That is a product rule, not a setting. It costs us some volume-driven customers and it keeps the ones who have to answer for their domain — founders, agencies, and teams selling into regulated industries.

Questions, answered

What is the Sequence Risk Score?

A 0–100 score computed before each send from five weighted signals: mailbox reputation (30), sending history (25), contact pressure (20), compliance (15) and timing (10). Scores fall into healthy, elevated, risky and dangerous bands, and each band maps to what the guardrail is allowed to do.

Can I override the guardrail?

You can raise your own daily cap, but the dispatcher enforces the lower of your cap and the guardrail's cap. A risky or dangerous score holds the sequence until the underlying signal recovers — re-verify the list, let the ramp catch up, fix what the mailbox health check flags.

Does it replace an email verification tool?

Email verification runs before a contact enters a sequence, and bounce thresholds catch what verification misses. If you already use a verification service you can keep it; the guardrail still watches the bounce rate per mailbox.

What about the Google and Yahoo 5,000-a-day rules?

Authenticated domains, one-click unsubscribe and a complaint rate under 0.3% are requirements for bulk senders. The guardrail treats them as hard limits for every sender, whatever the volume, because the penalty is the same either way.

Do you have a shared warm-up network?

No, on purpose. Warm-up networks send synthetic conversations from your domain to other customers' inboxes. Quotarider ramps a new mailbox with real, capped sends and lets reputation signals decide when to raise the cap.

What is a good email deliverability rate?

Aim for bounce rates under 2% and spam-complaint rates under 0.1% (Google's stated threshold is 0.3%). Quotarider slows or pauses sending well before those limits.

What is an email deliverability tool?

Software that monitors and protects inbox placement — authentication checks, bounce and complaint tracking, sending limits. Quotarider's guardrail also scores every send before it goes.

Do I need SPF, DKIM and DMARC for cold email?

Yes. Google and Yahoo require them for bulk senders, and unauthenticated cold email is filtered quickly. They are set up with your mail provider; Quotarider's read-only mailbox health check shows if anything is missing and the steps for your provider.

Is email warm-up still necessary in 2026?

A gradual ramp is. Warm-up networks that trade synthetic emails are increasingly seen as a signal by receivers; Quotarider ramps with real, capped sends instead.

Why did my domain get blacklisted?

Usually a burst of sends to an unverified list: bounces and complaints spike, and providers or blocklists react. A per-send risk score that can pause the sequence stops the burst before it happens.

How do I check if my emails are landing in spam?

Watch bounce, complaint and reply rates per mailbox and domain; a sudden drop in replies with steady sends is the usual early sign. Quotarider tracks these per mailbox and acts on them.
